Use samba or baião. Play only the low drum and count the main beat out loud.
Add shaker. Keep the motion relaxed for one minute without speeding up.
Add caixa or snare answer. Practice at least 10 BPM below the default tempo.
Solo agogô or bell, then add the low drum underneath it.
Mute and unmute instruments while the loop plays. Notice which layer makes you rush.
Practice one rhythm at three tempos: slow, medium, and default.
Play along for three short rounds with rests between them. Record one round if possible.
Do not chase every rhythm at once. Choose one rhythm for a week, then add a second rhythm only after the first feels comfortable.
